Simple turns out to be the best (surprise, surprise!)
My happy partners at Handle Your Own PR in Australia and the United States are soon to start a podcast series, but it’s tricky to record a podcast episode phone call with studio quality audio… until now!
The following setup will record audio from an iPhone call to your laptop:
iPhone > lightning to stereo auxiliary cable > Laptop > Audacity
Make sure both parties to the call do these things…
Your laptop auxiliary port needs to be set up as ‘Line In’ (search in Windows for: Realtek HD Manager)
Open Audacity and press ‘Record’.
When the other party picks up on the phone, hit speaker (so you can hear each other).
Make sure you are getting a sound wave.
Hit ‘Pause’ or ‘Stop’ to end the recording, then export the file as an MP3 like this:
If both parties send their MP3 recordings to me: dave@author2audio.com then I can put the two audio files together :>)
